England-Come on England, will echo around the world tomorrow afternoon, from Brighton to Bangkok, Chesterfield to Cyprus, Bolton to Brisbane, Doncaster to Durban, Everton to Egypt, fans and non fans of England football will all join together to support our National team as they bid to overcome Germany in the 2010 World Cup. I have taken the whole of the World cup away from the exhibition darts circuit, deciding to holiday and enjoy the games, I am aware that football is the National game and the whole country will always back the team, now the cup starts for real, the knockout stage begins today, the winners march on, the losers go home. Our guys will not let us down, their pride and passion will not allow them, we all want a win, I think we will, and It does not matter what the number are, 1-0, or 3-1, England - England - Come on England.
Football mania has taken over for the next month, all other sports have to take a back seat, darts included,I watched England play the USA in my local pub: The Victoria Inn, and I was surprised to see people who I know do not like football turn up wearing England colours, and did they cheer when Gerard scored the fist goal, the banter was also good, 250 people cramed into a pub that only holds half that number, all glued to the TV screens, ok, the result was not what we wanted, but all is not lost, we should still qualify for the next stage, and the feel good factor will continue for a while. I decided long ago from experience, not to take any exhibitions while the world cup is being played, I find it unfair to the person making the booking, if the venue is only half full because Germany, Spain, Brazil, are on TV, who's fault is it ?
