Ton eighty's for show Doubles for dough.

rebet_taylor.jpg

Phil Taylor proved to one and all that doubles are the most important contribute to winning major titles, especialy when you hit the double at the end of big finishing scores, Taylor who won the UK open at Bolton on Sunday against Gary Anderson in the final did so with a average of under 100, something we are not used to seeing from the master of ton plus averages, what he did do however was to finish 4 times when needing 121 or more. After winning the Premier League with scoring never before seen on any dart board in the World, Taylor set up yet another world record at Bolten when he recorded an astonishing average for a match of over 118 per throw, that is 39.33 per dart,of course maximums are a big factor in keeping the average high, but missed doubles drop the average dramatically, Taylor has become the king of finishing, all the players know what they have to do to beat him, they have to wait for him to miss those big finishes, then hope they can finish their own score, whatever that may be.

Dr Patrick Chaplin Historian and Legend

Patrick chaplin.jpg

Patrick Chaplin has long been a friend of mine, his knowledge of the sport of darts is unequaled, if fact he has dedicated most of his life to the sport, discovering it's roots, it's rules, and it's growth throughout the world, the history of darts I feel would not be the same without the massive contribution from Dr Chaplin. Now he has added a monthly news letter to his site: www.patrickchaplin.com.
